Global Design Innovation Ltd Hiring for Software Developer Job at Aberdeen, Scotland Full Time

GDi are seeking a Software Developer to join our busy and growing R&D team. GDi are an Aberdeen-based engineering company specialising in innovating upstream Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) business providing survey, asset management software, engineering/design, fabrication, and construction services to the energy sector. GDi are developing software tools that provide novel visualisations of productions plants, delivering massive savings in cost and time. The role of the developer is to support the delivery of these software applications and provide input for current and future software development opportunities within the sector.

The applicant should be comfortable applying their programming skills to create novel functionality for an existing web application which will be used to increase engineering and integrity management efficiency. They should have excellent interpersonal skills as they will work within the closely-knit R&D team to deliver expeditiously.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current applications
• Development of new applications / functionality
• Create technical specifications
• Provide technical input into functional and user requirements
• Research new technologies
• Presenting ideas for system improvements

Technologies we work with

Experience in the below technologies would be beneficial although not essential. Experience in similar languages and a willingness to learn/use the below technologies is essential.

• C# .NET Core
• Javascript – VueJS/Vuetify preferred
• SQL
• Docker
• AWS
• Git

Who you are

• You have strong communication skills

• You have the ability to work in a team as well as individually
• You’re a logical and analytical thinker with a creative approach to problem solving
• You have a strong understanding of software fundamentals and comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Experience in 3D model and / or point cloud systems are preferred, but not essential
• Knowledge and experience of the energy industry preferred, but not essential
