biking, abseiling, laser skirmish and corporate team building activities. We also offer camping and horse agistment services and have

recently added a new event centre for weddings, corporate functions and deluxe eco accommodation on our 3000-acre wilderness

property. We have been in business for more than 50 years and employ a passionate team of 30 full time and approximately 80 part

time and casual staff.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the role is to carry out a wide range of general farm work, and project related tasks to maintain and improve our

property, fencing installation/assembling and maintenance including agricultural plumbing. We are a working horse farm, so

experience handling livestock would be highly desirable but not essential.

What we are looking for

All applicants need to be over 18 years of age, non-smoking, physically fit, self-motivated, and capable of carrying out strenuous

physical labor, they must also possess the desirable skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the position we have on offer.

Farming, fencing and or agricultural plumbing experience is preferred.

Ideal candidates will enjoy working outdoors in a rural type setting, and not afraid to chip in and get your hands dirty doing a range

of behind-the-scenes tasks associated with maintaining and operating a large rural property. Applicants will be assessed using the

list of key result areas in the job description.

Remuneration

The standard hours of employment are from 7am to 5pm Mon – Fri, with 30 minutes for lunch and 15 minutes for morning tea.

This position is offered with an annual salary of $69,832.00 per annum plus superannuation. All rates are before tax. Your ordinary

hourly rate incorporates and offsets all entitlements including overtime, penalties (including Sunday and Public Holiday penalties),

allowances, and annual leave loading as contained within the Award.

Purpose of the role The purpose of the role is to carry out a wide range of general farm work, property maintenance

and project related tasks to maintain and improve our property facilities specifically including

fencing, agricultural plumbing, operating farm machinery and equipment, livestock handling and

general pasture management.

Performance Outcomes

Farm/Property Maintenance • Carry out all types of general farm labouring work and other necessary works e.g., cutting

up trees, general earthworks, rubbish removal, lawn mowing, slashing and some associated

tractor work

• As directed, assist with various property improvement projects, routine maintenance and

repairs of farm buildings, grounds, property, and facilities

• Take responsibility for the quality and standard of works undertaken
• Completes various rural plumbing repairs and expansions i.e., to horse drinkers, water lines,

irrigation lines etc.

Pasture Management • Operate our farm machinery and equipment and improve the quality of our pastures

through fertilisation, irrigation, planting and putting out seed by tractor.

• Assisting with the staggered seeding of winter pastures

Fencing

• Capable of building rural fencing to a high standard of durability and appearance such as

plain wire, post and rail, electric fences, installing gates etc.

• On large fencing projects planning and overseeing specialised external fencing contractors

i.e., fencing design and layout, forward planning, quality control, supplying required fencing

materials.

• Fencing repairs and upgrades to existing fences i.e., broken wires, electric fence faults,

replacing stays, strainers, fencing posts

Desirable qualities and skills • Demonstrated commitment to the farming or other outdoor industry

• Ability to safely operate a chainsaw, ride a motorbike/quad bike and drive farm machinery

such as tractors.
