Glenroy Private is currently seeking to employ a qualified Financial Controller in a Full-Time/Temporary position.
Salary range: $140,000 – $180,000 (dependant on qualifications and experience).
Duties:
· Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the College.
· Maintain general ledger, process journal entries, and reconcile subsidiary ledgers.
· Prepare cash flow statements when requested and control expenditure/cash flow.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports for the Principal and management.
· Prepare and lodge relevant tax returns and business activity statements.
· Review monthly, yearly, and long-term budgets.
· Respond to requests from College external auditors as required.
· Respond to other financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.
· Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts.
· Prepare the fortnightly pay run
· Ensure that all employees files are up to date and that employee’s details are in the HR system
· Coordinating and supporting the recruitment process
· Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, and procedures across the project.
· Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
· Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
· Ensure legal compliance throughout human resources business unit for the project.
· Maintain employee inductions and training.
· Manage a team performing end to end payroll processing
· Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy or payroll report
· Oversee changes to employee contracts and new employee’s contracts and terminations
· Manage the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
· Advise and educate team members of updates to awards and policies
· Attend education sessions on payroll legislation updates
· Review all payroll reports
· Provide advice and education to employees in relation to pay issues, award changes, new policies etc
· Resolve payroll enquiries in a professional manner
· Approve filing and archiving of payroll information
· Stay up to date with accounting, human resources, and legal guidelines.
Selection Criteria:
· Relevant Accounting and/or Finance qualifications and experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English), interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
· Flexible work ethics, team player, keen and motivated to engage with staff members and applicants of all backgrounds.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Demonstrated ability to think and analyse critically.
· Exceptional ability to work under pressure independently and within a team environment whilst meeting agreed deadlines.
· Strong interpersonal skills that promote a positive workplace environment.
· Solid understanding of Microsoft office applications including excel.
