About the role

Glenelly Infrastructure solutions has an exciting opportunity for a talented SHEQ Manager (H&S Manager) to join our Power & Civils Distribution business based in Hemel. This role will see you providing guidance, support, advice, and governance to the Projects/Business on all SHEQ related subjects. You will also manage all aspects of internal and external audits and governing body compliance to ensure the company is kept up to date with all SHEQ legislation and within their area of control will directly partner and support the Directors/Heads of Operations.

As HSEQ Manager you will:

• Communicate and engage and implement the SHEQ strategy
• Conduct site SHEQ audits, inspections, visits & joint client tours
• Assist and promote the local & external audit programme.
• Ensure the business is compliant with all HSES Regulations, company policies and the BMS across the business
• Provide SHEQ advice and support at an operational level.
• Assist in the identification of site SHEQ training needs.
• Ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated throughout the business.
• Support SHEQ work winning activities across the business.
• Ensure regular communication and engage with key stakeholders.
• Support and maintain a constant focus on the behavioural safety programme across the business
• Support during near miss/incident/accident investigations.
• Support the SHEQ upskilling and development of the business operational teams
• Promote SHEQ initiatives and innovations across their Project.

Who we’re looking for

• Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (NEBOSH/IOSH) or working towards.
• Prior experience working in the DNO and ICP environment would be advantageous
• Educated to Diploma/Degree/HNC level.
• Proven experience leading and managing a team
• Influencing and persuasion skills.
• Analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent communicator with motivational, leadership and coaching skills.
• Experience of reviewing and producing SHEQ reports to executive level
