Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our established and dedicated Finance team based at our CBD office.

Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide strong and comprehensive analysis on the financial impact of business decisions and proposing actions to improve performance, as well as ensuring statutory and corporate reporting requirements are met.

You will be responsible for:

• Monthly management reporting, forecasting and analysis, including meeting tight deadlines for global head entity;
• Preparing and reporting of the annual budget and business plans;
• Maintaining the life-of-mine corporate valuation model, modelling of scenarios and valuation of potential investments;
• Ensuring all tax obligations are met including income tax, FBT and BAS returns (in collaboration with the group tax team);
• Managing the Treasury function and cash funding requirements;
• Completing various ABS and industry surveys;
• Managing the Accounts Payable function, and supervising staff; and
• Assisting the Finance Director in defining and implementing appropriate policies and procedures relating to financial management and control, including improving efficiencies.

About You
Reporting directly to the Finance Director this hands on role would suit a person who can roll up their sleeves and has a can-do attitude.

You will also have:

• Extensive post qualification experience, exposure to working for a multi-national company advantageous;
• A professional accounting qualification, CA or CPA;
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards and procedures;
• A strong ability to solve problems, offer solutions and make decisions;
• The proficiency to critically analyse information and results; and
• Practiced time management skills in order to multi task and handle competing priorities and deadline driven environments.
