An exciting opportunity is now available for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Accountant looking for a career with Glencore, based in Brisbane, Queensland. Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, you will play a critical role in providing support to our Glencore Technology team, corporate finance and to the wider business.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Perform operational revenue, expenditure & capital cost analysis and reviews
• Produce accurate management, project & financial reports in a timely manner and within corporate guidelines, including adhering to fixed month end timelines where extra hours may be required to complete
• Partner and liaise with stakeholders on system and process improvements
• Process management & financial accounting transactions
• Deliver accurate forecasts & budgets and perform budget/forecast variance analysis whilst working closely with budget/forecast stakeholders
• Debtor and creditor management
• Providing compliance & governance support
• Perform business improvement & ad hoc projects

About you:

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards it
• Tertiary qualifications – Accounting/ Commerce
• SAP, Oracle and Hyperion (SmartView/Essbase) skills are highly regarded
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel knowledge
• Previous project accounting experience would be favourable
• Strong analysis and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience dealing in overseas jurisdictions regarding relevant taxes, ie. WHT, VAT, etc would be highly regarded
• The ability to liaise with all levels across the organisation and work well as a member of a team.
• Excellent time management; the ability to produce reliable, highly accurate deliverables within specified timeframes
