Founded in London, in 2010, Glassworks is a fresh London fashion brand totally independent, style-obsessed and passionate believers in bricks-and-mortar boutiques as well as streamlined digital shopping. Limited, weekly runs of completely new fashion mean a constant feed of newness without end of season waste. With the recent launch of our ecommerce store and additional online channels, we are focused on scaling revenue and shifting our production to sustainable fabrics and processes.
THE ROLE
The HR and People Manager will partner with the management team to develop the full scope of HR processes at Glassworks London, with a broad view that spans the full lifecycle of all employees and contractors in the team. You will be an energetic, passionate HR professional preferably with experience in the fashion retail and/or ecommerce space. You will be supported by an external HR support team with employment contracts and any HR areas that are affected by employment law. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional brimming with ideas to enhance the efficiency and satisfaction of a highly invested team of employees in a rapidly growing company.
WORK SCHEDULE
This role is a part time freelance role. The aim is to start with two days per week for the first few months, after which we will assess if more time is required. Please indicate your availability when prompted in the application process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding; to training and development, appraisals and promotions; ending with exit reviews and offboarding
Manage the Glassworks London online HR presence (internal HR platform, Glassworkslondon.com careers and industry recruitment platforms – LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
Ensure healthy internal communication around job openings, benefits changes, training opportunities, changes in pay, etc.
Work closely with the CEO to develop and implement strong HR systems and processes leveraging the extensive in-house HR technology and job description/training/appraisal tools that are already in place
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Develop and execute recruiting plans tracking and exceeding critical department KPIs (retention, cost per hire, time-to-hire, diversity)
Handle all HR aspects of recruiting and onboarding including job postings, contract administration and recordkeeping
Work closely with hiring managers to create job descriptions and screen applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need through industry contacts, association memberships, employee referrals and college recruiting initiatives
Research and implement best practice tactics to limit unconscious bias in the recruitment process and promote diversity within the workforce
Talent development (Appraising, Training, Rewarding, Promoting):
Partner with the CEO and management team to ensure that all employees have clear job descriptions, KPIs and an understanding of the company mission and culture
Work with all managers to implement a process documentation regimen into the day-to-day operation of the business to ensure strong training and succession planning
Set a schedule for performance appraisals, training plans and pay reviews and hold management accountable for the deliverables, supporting with comparative payroll data as required
Develop the existing employee benefits scheme introducing additional perks and bonuses
Work with the management team to schedule employee social and team building events including securing budget from the finance team
Work with the external HR support team to support managers and employees with disciplinaries, grievances, etc.
Offboarding
Design and conduct exit interviews to improve the recruitment and management processes and reduce turnover
Ensure that all administrative tasks are completed regarding offboarding
JOB REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years experience working in an HR or retail management role, preferably in the fashion industry
Proven hiring and talent development experience must be able to speak to your individual responsibilities, weekly processes, and KPI performance
An extremely organised and goal-oriented team player with great communication skills
A clear passion for building and developing teams
High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
