Accounting Representative
Compensation: Starting pay rate of $18.00-23.00/hr
Location: Minneapolis, KS

Responsibilities:

• Ensure successful accounts receivable transactions by recording customer payments, reviewing aging, and communicating with customers.
• Receive and process vendor and supplier invoices.
• Set up new vendors in ERP system.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and ensure that payments are being processed appropriately.
• Receive and communicate information needed for the production of routine financial and accounting reports.
• Review appropriate customer credit limit and terms based off of credit reporting and references.
• Send Invoices and Statements to customers.
• Additional routine supporting duties to ensure successful company administration.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Strong computer skill with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Outgoing, friendly, and professional with an organized approach.
• Critical thinker with advanced problem solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize data.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and standard business practices systems preferred.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience preferred.
• Experience and/or education in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields preferred.

Work Environment: Office setting with friendly, out-going, team-oriented staff. Candidates should anticipate a very fast-paced, productive work environment. Occasionally, the candidate will work in our manufacturing plant environment to interface with operations teammates.

Learning and Development Opportunities: G.L. Huyett practices open book management, so this individual will be exposed to all elements of financial accounting, perhaps leading to future opportunities in the preparation of financial statements. The firm uses numerous technology tools including document management, data modeling, optical character recognition, and other aspects. This is a ground floor opportunity that has the potential to develop not only within the Accounting team, but also to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations.
