The Role

We are currently adding a fitter in our Machine Shop department to join our growing team!

This is a full-time position on the day shift:

Monday – Thursday: 7:30AM – 5PM

Friday: 7:30AM – 4:00PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform day to day Fitting operations in fabrication shop .
• Oversee and ensure that safe-working procedures, good housekeeping practices and all company policies are adhered to at all times
• Organize resources and workflow to maximize efficiencies and monitor daily performances
• Be proactive to ensure a safe work environment and promote safe work habits continuous contact with shop floor employees

• Conduct Training for new employees
• Maintain ongoing and effective communication with Plant Manager, other supervisors, Cad-Cam programmer and production scheduler with regards to daily activities and priorities

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education and certification in a related technical discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ previous fitting experience in a machine shop with Large weldments.
• Strong planning and organization skills

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player with excellent leadership skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with sound judgment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work overtime on an occasional basis
