CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Set Up Operator ( Midsize machine )

The Role

We are currently looking for a a highly skilled Horizontal Boring Mill Operator in our Machine Shop department to join our growing team!

This is a full-time position on the day shift:

Monday – Thursday: 7:30AM – 5PM

Friday: 7:30AM – 4:00PM

Duties and Responsibilities

Set up and Machine midsize to Large weldments .
Oversee and ensure that safe-working procedures, good housekeeping practices and all company policies are adhered to at all times
Organize resources and workflow to maximize efficiencies and monitor daily performances
Schedule, distribute and control work assignments to provide smooth workflow of both priority and routine tasks to ensure efficient utilization of personnel so that production requirements are met in a timely basis
Co-ordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of shop floor equipment as necessary
Provide leadership, support and direction to employees on machining/technical challenges
Be proactive to ensure a safe work environment and promote safe work habits continuous contact with shop floor employees
Conduct Training for new employees
Maintain ongoing and effective communication with Plant Manager, other supervisors, Cad-Cam programmer and production scheduler with regards to daily activities and priorities

Qualifications

Post-Secondary education and certification in a related technical discipline
Minimum 10 years’ previous experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 10 years of CNC machining experience
Strong planning and organization skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with excellent leadership skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with sound judgment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work overtime on an occasional basis
