Gi Group are looking for a team of production operatives to join a leading optical client in based in Thornbury BS35.

Our client strives to be the best in the business by creating top selling eyewear, with precision and care, when manufacturing these products.

Job Details for Production Operative:
* 6am-2pm one week and 2pm/10pm the following week. This shift will constantly rotate.
* £11.94ph (including shift allowance)
* Overtime is paid at time and a half on Saturdays.
* Overtime on a Sunday is paid at double time.
* Weekday overtime is paid at £13.08per hour.
* All PPE is provided by the client and must be worn when working in the production areas.
* No experience required.
* Must be able to speak and understand English.
* Must be able to read and identify barcodes and numbers.
* 1 month training is provided.
* Must have a strong eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities and Role for Production Operative:
* Produce glasses lenses by undertaking departmental tasks using departmental operating procedures.
* Operate machinery using the stated standard operating procedures.
* To be aware of departmental targets and actively strive to achieve them.
* Undertaking all department tasks once adequately trained.
* Work at pace dictated by the volume and workflow of the department.
* Monitor own production station to ensure defects are quickly ed for resolution.
* Monitor and /communicate all workflow or machinery problems, or quality, health and safety or environmental issues.
* Manage own workstation to ensure it is kept clean and tidy.
* Support team colleagues to ensure work flows smoothly between workstations.
* Sharing your product, plant and process knowledge with colleagues as relevant.
* All general departmental production duties.
* Partake in departmental cleaning regimes.
* Working flexibly with team to cover unexpected plant situations.
* To work in an efficient and cost-effective Manner and to minimise the use of departmental consumables as is reasonably possible.
* To perform other reasonable tasks as determined by the shift manager.
