An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Junior software developer to join one of the big names in consultancy. We’re looking for an ambitious, self-starting individual to join the delivery team to support our internal and external technical projects, maintain and update our websites, and manage and administer our Microsoft 365 Admin suite. As a junior developer you will be supported and mentored by more experienced members of the team.

As a fresh thinking individual, you will apply your experience and knowledge, or simply the right approach and attitude, to play an integral role in supporting and delivering our client projects, developing new instruments and improving existing tools, assisting with improving our websites and online communications, as well as providing 2nd line technical support. In return you will get rewarding opportunities to develop your programming skills and contribute to applying best practice web application development and gain experience of managing the full agile development lifecycle. We primarily use PHP in the LAMP stack as well as JavaScript and some legacy Perl software, however prior experience is not necessary as the successful candidate will also receive training and accreditation.
You’ll be part of a small team of highly effective, service delivery individuals reporting to the senior software developer. This role would be ideally suited to a computer science or science graduate with an interest in computers and programming, looking to set out on a career as a full stack developer.
We are currently working fully remotely, however have at least one team meeting in person a month primarily in Henley-on-Thames, which is easily accessible by rail (Reading, Paddington) and road (M4, M40, M3). We are looking to get shared working spaces in Henley/Reading that we can use on a semi regular basis, so a candidate that is in a reasonable travel time would be preferable.
