Job Overview
As a Patient Access Specialist I (PASI), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient care by efficiently completing benefit verifications (BVs) and initiating prior authorizations (PAs). You’ll collaborate closely with various departments, including Patient Access, Revenue Cycle Management, and Clinical Services, to deliver exceptional service every day.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and accurately input patient and insurance details into our CRM platform, ensuring timely completion of BVs, PAs, and other pre-authorizations.
Manage incoming faxes and correspondence, prioritizing tasks effectively.
Execute BVs, PAs, and pre-authorizations with precision and efficiency to meet organizational requirements.
Monitor departmental email for requests and resolutions, maintaining clear communication channels.
Utilize online portals such as Waystar to streamline processes and uphold turnaround time expectations.
Maintain updated patient charts and ensure accurate assignment of BV & PA statuses.
Collaborate proactively with Clinical Services, RCM, and other teams to support their BV and PA-related functions.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies at all times.
Qualifications
Prior experience in BVs, PAs, or medical billing preferred.
Commitment to professional conduct and compliance standards.
Familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system and insurance landscape.
Knowledge of medical front office processes and terminology.
Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills.
Strong customer service ethos for internal team interactions.
Analytical mindset for data organization and problem-solving.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
Education And Requirements
High school diploma or GED certificate required.
Associate degree preferred.
Additional Information
Proficiency in computer usage and software applications is essential.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to our Scottsdale, AZ or Atlanta, GA offices as needed.
