Key Responsibilities
As a critical part of the patient care team, the Medical Scribe will:
Prepare charts according to clinic protocols.
Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits.
Document patient history, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans in real-time.
Support quality metrics by reminding providers when necessary and documenting accordingly.
Enter laboratory and radiographic studies as directed by the provider.
Record medication orders as dictated.
Provide patients with documented instructions.
Review completed charts with the provider between patients or at the end of the shift.
Update provider and clinic preference documents as needed.
Qualifications And Skills
Proficient in verbal and written English.
Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
Preference given to candidates pursuing a healthcare track (e.g., pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing).
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Alternatively, 1+ year(s) of full-time work experience as a scribe without a college degree.
Typing speed of at least 60 WPM (most assignments require this).
Experienced scribes can earn up to $16/hr.
