Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Process Control Engineer role to join our Cedar Springs Containerboard Process Control team located in the Cedar Springs, GA. The individual in this role will provide design, implementation, and support for existing and new Process Control systems. This includes Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and custom control applications running in an MS environment used to meet manufacturing needs and production goals. A successful candidate will enjoy utilizing engineering expertise to solve problems and improve the reliability and functionality of existing control systems and instrumentation. What You Will Do In Your Role

• Troubleshoot to evaluate root cause and address technical issues with long term solutions in mind
• Develop and execute migration plans for legacy control system platforms
• Evaluate processes and equipment operation – work with various drives and equipment integration
• Plan and manage process improvement projects
• Read and understand P&ID’s, loop sheets, and electrical drawings
• Learn new programming languages and understand control loop dynamics and tuning
• Work with DCS and PLC platforms such as Honeywell Experion, Honeywell TDC 3000, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix
• Communicate and work with various operational, environmental, maintenance, and engineering levels in a team environment yet be self-motivated and accomplish individual goals
• Effectively communicate with internal customers and leadership
• Work with a sense of urgency and customer focus mindset

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering OR 6+ years of manufacturing experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets), and Outlook (email and calendar)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience working within a Pulp and Paper operation
• Two (2) or more years of professional experience working with DCSs and/or PLCs to include troubleshooting, modifications and additions
• Hands on programming experience and hardware management in industrial process control platforms and networks
• Experience working with drive systems
• Experience working with protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, ControlNet, and/or Ethernet/IP
