About the Opportunity

Council is seeking an experienced and passionate waste professional to come onboard in our key education role, where collaboration is the key to success.

As Waste Education Officer you will develop, implement and deliver community education addressing a range of waste management, minimisation and recycling initiatives.

• Permanent, Full-Time – 70 hours per fortnight
• Salary from $79,559.72 – $92,181.87 per annum plus 10% superannuation
• Leaseback vehicle

• Deliver innovative services that promote and support our community

The successful candidate will also work at a strategic level, developing and implementing a Waste Education Strategy inline with Council’s 2040 Waste Strategy.

Essential

• Extensive experience working within the waste or resource recovery industry and/or tertiary qualifications in environmental education, communication or a similar field
• Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to liaise effectively, professionally and build relationships with external bodies, internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously to meet given targets
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute proactively within a team environment
• Sound expertise in Microsoft Office applications
• Flexibility to work outside of and in addition to usual hours of work
• Ability to provide efficient and effective customer service
• Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence with full functional capability to drive a motor vehicle
