About GenPAx
Infection control is the practical, evidence-based approach which prevents patients and health workers from being harmed by avoidable infection. No one should catch an infection while receiving health care, yet, these infections can spread through outbreaks and regular care practices, affecting hundreds of millions of people across the world every year.

At GenPAx our goal is to radically increase the utility, scalability, and speed with which genome sequencing data delivers infection control solutions for human and animal healthcare worldwide. This will enable proactive control at early stages of outbreaks, and to respond appropriately to more dangerous or more antibiotic resistant strains. We have developed unique solutions to address the challenges and our goal is to provide access to these solutions in a fully scalable system.
The team
The engineering team works together to develop ground-breaking approaches to bacterial genome sequence analysis, developing initial prototypes into a commercial product.

We are actively hiring for software engineering roles of all levels within the team to work alongside bioinformaticians and computational biologists. This will require the ability to adapt to changes in requirements and priorities as the product evolves. This is an opportunity to have a real-world impact on thousands of lives each year.
Your duties

• Building, testing and delivering the analysis tools and customer-facing product

• Contributing to the development of import and reporting solutions

• Developing new pipelines, tools, and data resources

• Developing individual skills and specialist competencies to complement and enhance those of the wider team

• Expanding your knowledge of the problem that GenPAx addresses

• Responding and contributing to the rapidly changing needs and environment while contributing to the success of the company

• Full-stack/back-end (functional Python)

• Front-end (TypeScript, React)

• Visualisation of large and complex datasets

• Skill sharing, and mentoring junior team members
