Genesis Innovation Group Hiring for Senior Sports Medicine Product Development Engineer at Remote Full Time

We are currently looking to add an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to independently lead projects from design conception to production in our new Sports Medicine sector. The selected candidate will design, develop, and test all aspects of Sports Medicine related medical/surgical components, equipment, and instruments. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable in a “start-up” atmosphere, able to implement practical solutions based on device requirements and project timelines, have experience in large joint Arthroscopy, and effective at communicating and exchanging information.

In this role you will:

• Develop complex devices through the entire development process including developing design requirements, generating design concepts, prototyping, design evaluation, and preparing production inventory.
• Outline and implement project timelines ensuring project meets key deliverable dates.
• Follow ISO 13485:2016 and other applicable regulatory standards; design and test products in accordance with specifications, international standards, medical guidance, and regulatory safety standards.
• Create Testing Protocols and s for all aspects of medical/surgical components, equipment, and instruments.
• During the course of the project, work with surgeon teams and hospital staff in the creation and testing of implants, instrumentation, and biomedical equipment
• Partner with Finance/Business & Commercialization colleagues.
• Collaboratively communicate and exchange information with team members and effectively communicate accurate information with vendors.

To keep up with our fast-paced, detail-driven business qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering or advanced degree strongly preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years progressive engineering experience in the medical field with several years of large joint Arthroscopy experience.
• Demonstrated ability to show project ownership and completion of a significant size and scope.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or other CAD programs.
• Experience in an Entrepreneurial/Start-Up phase organization.

Bonus Points if you have the following:

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Design Control, Design and Process Validations, Gage R&R, Test Method validations, pilot manufacturing for clinical builds, design transfer for commercial manufacturing.
• Experience working with Design History Files from prototype to market release for medical devices.
• Experience with the FDA IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) or 510(k) processes.
