Description
Written correspondence, issue letters, memos, emails in correspondence to policies / procedures and feedback, as well as disseminate general information
Position Purpose : To perform a wide variety of responsible clerical and bookkeeping duties which support the management of Generations Child Care office activities, as well as to assure smooth and efficient child care office operations.
Additionally, the Office Assistant is the central figure in providing a friendly, organized, and professional office environment.
The Office Assistant will work in accordance with all laws and regulations governing Child Care Centers, New York State employment laws, and generally accepted accounting methods.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Request necessary information and take and transmit messages as appropriate.
Prepare and accurately maintain a variety of s and files concerning child and parent information. Children’s records : Notice of Decisions, immunizations, blue cards, and enrollment.
Parent records : inquiries, tours, tuition rates, and collections.
Community Relations
Professional Development
Attend professional development training seminars as offered. (Obtain certification in areas of CPR, First Aid, and MAT training.
Stay current with Generations policies, OCFS regulations, and accreditation guidelines).
Communication
Daily in person contact with directors, families, case workers, staff, and members of the leadership team to exchange information related to operation of child care program.
Requirements
Education : An accredited two-year college or university with specialization in Accounting, Business, or Related Field is preferred.
Experience : Knowledge of accounting principles and policies. Some knowledge of the organization, operation and general administration of child care facilities or related operation.
Ability to use conflict resolution techniques with a variety of circumstances and individuals. Ability to communicate effectively and to interpret Child and Elder Care rules, policies, and procedures accurately.
