General Motors Hiring for Software Simulation Product Owner – Software Defined Vehicle at Markham, ON Full Time

The successful candidate will be on the forefront of realistic automotive simulation environments. High fidelity simulation allows for faster development cycles for our active safety and autonomous vehicles. The candidate will be the product owner of an agile group working on all aspects of a software-in-the-loop simulation using the latest techniques of data processing and modelling. There will be a heavy emphasis on automation and handling large volumes of data in a real-time or faster-than-real-time environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develops detailed fact-based understanding of the needs and critical issues of own immediate customer base, including offerings from other parts of the company, as well as profitability and value creation, and takes customer-specific actions for the immediate and long-term product

Understands the broader industry context, business unit strategy and the role of their business / function within it

Identifies the competitive advantage with thinking from customers, partners, suppliers, etc., and incorporates insights into simulation strategy

Communicates the outcome of strategic discussions to team regularly in order to inform ongoing dialogue

Fosters and creates openness and inclusiveness by seeking the input of the team

May direct the activities of a group of engineers or technical experts in defining, planning, and analyzing projects of a most significant level of difficulty

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

7+ years of working experience with software development teams

3+ years as a certified Agile Product Owner or Scrum Lead

Extensive experience with full software development lifecycle (software requirements, design, coding, verification)

Must possess excellent communication skills

Have knowledge of accurate real-time physics-based simulation platforms an asset

Experience with HPC or cloud computing, virtual machines, dockers and Kubernetes an asset

Experience working on large volumes of data in a real-time, or faster than real-time environment an asset
