General Dynamics Missions Systems-Canada Hiring for Software/Systems Engineering Developers, Junior at Ottawa, ON Full Time

Project/Program Overview:
We are always looking for eager and enthusiastic juniors and new grads to join our teams! As a Junior Engineer with us, you will support the development and design of software and firmware, develop requirements; interface definitions, and designs that support the platforms on Canadian and international Military aircrafts, helicopters, ships, UAVs and land vehicles. This role will be a combination of working remotely and onsite at our Ottawa office. We have a number of measures in place for onsite working – our top priority remains the health and safety of our colleagues.

Job Description:
As a Junior Engineer, you will be working with a diverse and experienced team of engineering professionals, you will follow Scum practices while learning and supporting the Software Development Life Cycle from our technical leads.This may be the perfect opportunity for you if you are passionate about developing and implementing the best software and systems in the industry and working with leading edge technology and versatile tools!

The responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general will include:

Performing some design, analysis and test functions under the mentorship of more senior engineers.

Document analyses, designs and tests (e.g., tech notes, sections of requirements specifications, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates with the supervision of a more

experienced engineer.

Works closely with the various engineering functions throughout the development cycle for the purposes of component selection, design capture and analysis.

Implementation of software routines to meet software requirements.

Maintaining code base in accordance with coding standards.

Some development and performance of integration test and debug of implantations.

Some development and performance of design verification test under the supervision of more senior engineers.

Investigate system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses;

Provide technical support during high-level integration and qualification testing.

Provide technical support to internal customers.

Perform developmental configuration management activities.

Present of their work at design reviews or other types of peer reviews.

Some travel may be required to support internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications:
University Degree in Electrical engineer, Computer Engineer, Software Engineer, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree (or soon to get your degree but done your classes!)

Strong communication skills

Co-op Experience is considered an asset

Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
