Basic Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

This key leadership role will report to the IT LAA East, Senior Manager. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services.The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team of highly skilled IT professionals supporting cutting edge engineering and development. Delivering highly available information system resources is critical to the success of GDMS. The successful candidate will ensure these information systems are secure, available, and are aligned to meet the needs and expectations of our end-users and business stakeholders. Youll manage employees to establish measurements, monitor performance, and develop growth plans.Duties and Tasks:People Leader, responsible for all aspects of employee engagement, including directing, coaching, supporting, and providing frequent feedback to develop, challenge and grow a diverse team of technical staffUnder general direction, provides assessments, recommendations, and follows through on all aspects of employee management including talent acquisition, development planning, performance evaluation, salary planning and terminationPartners across Business Operations and our business partners, communicating value, listening to customers, and tuning/optimizing processes, solutions, and technology to meet business needsProvide recommendations on updates to strategy, improvements in Service delivery, innovation, continuous improvement, and the evolution of people, process and technologyKnowledge of industry best practices and new technologies; Champion a culture of education, awareness and adoption of changing practices and technologiesOversee the delivery of IT project medium size initiatives working closely with project management, business users, and various technology teams to ensure successful project outcomes and deliverablesIdentify and may lead process improvement initiatives to improve quality, timeliness of the delivery of IT services, and provide optimum value as a business partnerIdentify and implement key operational metrics and track performance against objectives and long-term strategies. Under general direction, Develop and implement plans to address deficienciesExperience in developing relationships and formal and informal networks across geographic boundaries to influence, coordinate, communicate, and organize groups/teamsResponsible for resource management to optimize effectiveness, enhance service delivery, and support employee work/life balanceExecute on risk mitigation strategies to improve the overall IT security postureProvide recommendations for the development of the annual department budget, and may participate in identifying cost savings or reduction opportunitiesModerate business travel requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience managing Information Technology services teams within an engineering or manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience leading a geographically dispersed, technical organization responsible for mission critical IT systemsStrong organizational skills including leading initiatives and modest projects; a facility to handle multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously; a track record of exercising independent judgment appropriately; and the ability to quickly understand and execute complex assignments when working on high profile outcomes with inherent riskKnowledge of organizational change management principles including leading change; building a coalition; anticipating resistance to change; designing / implementing appropriate strategies; institutionalizing changeUnderstanding of IT industry methodologies (e.g., DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)Understanding of the GDMS business strategy and supporting cultureKnowledge of fundamental information security practices and procedures particularly those common to working in the defense sectorExperience working with uncertainty, resistance, barriers, issues, and challenges in an ever-changing business environmentExperience in budgeting, planning, problem solving and cost analysisLean-Agile mindset Demonstrates the understanding and familiarity with the Lean-Agile mindsetNOTE:This position is ‘on site’ in Dedham, MA
