The HR Manager sits within the People team and will be responsible for advising and guiding employees through matters on law and policy and acting as the last line of defence of HR.
We are a Series A business, with around 60 employees currently and growing!
As a HR Director you’ll be working on things like
Guiding managers through probation reviews, extensions and dismissals
Guiding managers through addressing poor performance and/or timekeeping/conduct concerns, drafting letters and emails as necessary
Guiding managers through dealing with unauthorised absence
Guiding managers and employees through the disciplinary and grievance process, including recommending sanctions, taking minutes, writing up outcomes and managing the appeal process
Guiding managers through other processes as required (e.g. redundancy)
Being the point of contact for absent staff/emergency contacts
Owning all health/disability related issues: address concerns with employee, guide managers through the OH/GP referral process, write to GPs, document reasonable adjustments etc
Ensure that all relevant information is sent to finance for payroll including new joiners, changes & leavers information within the month
Process maternity, paternity leave and issue appropriate paperwork
Take notes at meetings between managers and individual employees, e.g. disciplinary and grievance hearings, as required
Contribute ideas and support for operational decisions, projects and HR initiatives
Discuss structural changes with Heads of relevant departments
Writing policies as and when needed
The perfect individual for this unique role will have
Ideally achieved or working towards CIPD Qualified (Associate Level or equivalent).
3+ years relevant experience in HR within a fast paced, preferably technology driven environment.
Experience in employee relations, performance management and UK employment legislation.
Experience in a similar sized, growing business (series A, employee base 50-250)
Experience dealing with ER cases
