Job Description Summary

You’ll be involved in GE’s ADMS (Advanced Distributions Management System) related projects, tackling problems ranging from analysing data to providing solutions for varied customer business requirements. The product ADMS is an integrated product inclusive of DMS, OMS, SCADA, DPF, IVVR and other systems and also goes with names like ENMAC, PowerOnFusion and PowerOnAdvantage. Our product is installed in many Distributions companies across the world and is leading in innovative and integrated solutions in the growing market of Energy Utilities.
You’ll be introduced to Energy & Power domains and guided on related technologies and software. You’ll be guided by structured goals and will have responsibility to deliver in our ADMS projects. We’ll offer coaching, training by a mentor(s) and you’ll have a strong support network of experienced staff that are able to help you on technical problems, soft skills and time management.
Job Description
As a Software Project Intern, you’ll be able to use your skills of programming, innovation and engineering and are encouraged to implement new ideas, develop tools and applications, or improvise our methods in the projects.
You’ll partake in an ‘Intern Project’ over the course of the year. improving and refining aspects of your skill set. It is something that is aimed to help build your teamwork, time management and overall skills and the Intern Project will benefit GE Digital with new tools, applications and methodologies delivered.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- You’ll be studying towards a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
- Experience programming in C, C++, Java or Shell
- Knowledge of Database, SQL, Oracle
- Versed in MS Office Suite of products
- Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
- Ability to accurately follow work process instructions
- You’ll have well developed communication skills
- You’ll be an excellent team player whilst maintaining an independent perspective
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
