The Role

Working for the Controllers business as a Software Team Leader you will be part of a team of engineering professionals with experience starting at Interns all the way up to Chief Engineer level. You must be comfortable leading, or have aspirations of leading, a diverse and highly capable team through the full project development process. You will be happy to oversee technical work and to provide guidance to your team, to ensure the strict safety critical standards are met whilst still adhering to schedules which are often impacted by shifts in customer’s needs. In addition to oversight responsibilities, you will be tasked with providing clear status updates both to your team and to the wider project management team. To provide clear updates, you would be expected to provide a valid input to the project plan covering your teams’ activities which both you and your team buy into. Your plan will be required to account for any risks or opportunities that may impact it, continuing to track those identified to ensure a smooth execution. During the project execution there may come times when you would be expected to represent the projects interests to the customer directly, this can sometimes require travel when safe to do so. You will find this role both challenging and incredibly rewarding, especially knowing your products are contributing to the safe transport of people and goods around the globe.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent level of experience
• Good with people and good at communicating

Desired Characteristics but not essential

• Experience with producing and maintaining project plans, managing risk, budget tracking and reporting
• Experience of risk & opportunity identification and management
• Experience working with remote teams would be advantageous
