We have a great opportunity for a Finance Specialist to join our busy team in Cheltenham. In this role you will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities

• General accounting and policy application including supporting the wider team through the finance period close cycles adhering to the agreed deadlines.
• Preparing & posting journal entries, account balance reconciliations, preparing reports & analysis, balance sheet commentary and assisting the team manager on any other ad-hoc requirements.
• Develop understanding of the processes assigned which could include payroll, cash & bank , revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc.. Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.
• This role would provide opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of the ERP systems and other various IT applications used internally by the accounting function.
• Communication with direct colleagues and business stakeholders to effectively meet the goals and objectives set for the role..
• Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
• Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.

Required Qualifications

• This role requires basic experience in the Finance & Accounting Operations such as reconciliations, project accounting and balance sheets.
• A Bachelor’s degree is desirable but relevant experience will also be considered.

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  
  Note: This role offers hybrid working , meaning minimum of 1-2 days in the office is required.
