At GE Aerospace we reinvent the future of flight. Via our products, operators and maintainers utilise aircraft data to optimise aircraft operations and availability. Working as part of this growing multi-site DevOps team you will be responsible for full-stack web application development on a Microsoft Azure platform for a component, feature and/or feature set, deliverable direct to users using LEAN Agile methodology. You will also work on customer product support and backlog enhancements.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack web application development (.NET and Azure technologies); writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality timely and accurately using the technology selected for the project.
• Applies software development life cycle process including gathering requirements, design, implementation, validating the implementation/testing and support.
• Implementation and maintenance of automated tests.
• Conducts peer code review and provides constructive feedback and direction.
• Executes and engages using Agile Methodology; estimates efforts to complete, actions user stories and documents timely outcomes including associated tasks and defects in Agile project management systems
• Conducts L2 support and problem troubleshooting to get to RCA and permanent resolution.
• Continuous learning of technology trends, tools, and approaches, including sharing knowledge with the team.
• Works independently and on teams, self-manages and learns independently with discernment of when to escalate and seek guidance.
• Develops and maintains baseline system and technical feature documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Finance, or other technical related fields (OR a minimum 5 years of relevant work experience)

Essential Experience

• .NET application development
• Web UI frameworks such as Vue.js
• Database design and development
• Data storage and caching for performance
• Knowledge of message queue systems (Azure Service Bus, RabbitMq)
• Source control systems and automated build systems (Git, Azure DevOps Pipelines).
• Automated UI, Unit and System level testing
• RESTful webservices
• Deep understanding of Microservices & cloud technologies
• Experience implementing secure applications

Desirable Experience

• Microservice design/implementation
• Experience of Azure cloud services
• Experience of production deployment using Kubernetes
• Linux development and deployment
• Data Structures and Design Patterns

Communication Skills:

• Fluent in English (in writing and speaking)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
