Part Time

• Contract position until 31st Dec 2022, with the possibility of ongoing dependant on funding.
• 8 hours per week – can be flexible across 1 to 3 days in the week to suit the services and your availability.
• Support for Kindergarten services in the Glenelg Shire.
• This position is based from your home. You will have access to a lap top and phone. You will also have access to the Warrnambool Office – 171 Lava Street Warrnambool.

We currently provide services throughout the Geelong region, Wyndham, Western Melbourne, Warrnambool and South West Victoria with offices in Geelong, Werribee, Footscray, and Warrnambool.

Services includes early intervention, inclusion supports and therapy, support coordination, group recreation and skill development activities, individual in-home support as well as parent support and education, day activities, housing and support for adults as well as children in out of home care.

You will be part of the Assessment & Specialised Support team, which includes Kindergarten Inclusion Support, Preschool Field Officers and The Assessment PLACE team.

The team is part of the Barwon Service Delivery Department.

About the Position:

• You will be enthusiastic about inclusion, so all children have the opportunity to access a kindergarten program and achieve their individual potential
• You will support educators and their service to develop, implement and sustain flexible, inclusive practices
• You will assist early years educators and services to link with relevant community groups, services and organizations
• You will support educators in their provision of family centered practices
• You will facilitate the educators to source information and support in response to service inclusion needs.

Skills and Experience:

• The knowledge and understanding of the principles of capacity building in the context of a children’s service
• Demonstrated experience in working with children of all abilities and cultural backgrounds, including children from an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island background, children known to Child Protection or who have experienced trauma
• Previous experience as an Educational Leader, showing the ability to assess the needs of kindergarten/childcare services
• Be innovative, flexible and have the ability to work as part of a team, both internally and externally
• A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education is essential and Special Education is desirable
• Current Victorian Driver’s License
• Current Police Check and Working with Children Check

Requirement of the position:

• A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, with a minimum of 5 years experience working in the field
• Additional qualifications in special education and/or experience working in special education settings are desirable.

In accordance with the Public Health Orders, successful candidates will be required to demonstrate evidence of approved COVID-19 vaccination or authorised medical exemption by (second dose by 29 Nov).
