We are a busy gastroenterology office with 29 Providers. We are planning for upcoming growth to our company and are looking to bring on more team members to accommodate for this! We are looking for a team-oriented individual to help us provide great care to our patients! This individual should show great attention to detail and should have previous knowledge and experience with working insurance denials and writing appeals. EEO

JOB SUMMARY:

The Experienced Medical Billing Specialist will work within a team environment to follow up on outstanding claims pending payment from Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation insurance payers regarding professional and surgical gastroenterology services done in our office, inpatient/outpatient hospital, and at ambulatory surgical centers. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Research, correct, and re-submit rejected and denied claims.
• Contact insurance customer service regarding denied or unpaid claims.
• Utilize provider portals to research and submit claims, corrections, reconsiderations, appeals, obtain EOB’s, etc.
• Prepare reconsiderations and appeals to denied claims.
• Prepare appeals to denied claims.
• Answer questions regarding charges.
• Review and process insurance overpayments.
• Analyze the system for trending denials.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss claim denials and trending.
• Identify configuration updates and notify billing manager.
• Work within team to improve efficiencies and workflows.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Experience:
