Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg Hiring for Procedure Scheduler at Fredericksburg, VA Full Time

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting patients requiring diagnostic testing and/or procedures with the scheduling of these services. The Scheduler plays a key role in delivery of exceptional service and care to patients of the practice.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Meets with patients after their scheduled visit with provider. Provides educational and instructional materials and answers any non-clinical questions they may have.
• Insures all patients have complete and accurate information regarding required prep for procedure.
• Reserves patient’s appointment in appropriate computer system or, if direct scheduling is unavailable, communicates with scheduling department at appropriate service facility.
• Notifies individual(s) responsible for obtaining authorizations from payors as required.
• Routinely reviews providers’ schedules to minimize gaps and maximize efficiency.
• Serves as a liaison between practice and external facilities. Interacts courteously and professionally with representatives from external facilities to facilitate patient scheduling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 – $21.50 per hour
