About the role:
Are you intellectually curious and motivated by ideas? Do you want to create research and insights that are widely used by executive leaders worldwide to make decisions on their critical priorities and change the way people work?
Gartner is searching for a London-based Senior Specialist to join our global HR research team. This opportunity gives researchers an exposure to a range of HR leadership-level strategic and management topics. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for leading the framing, analyzing, and writing of research on critical issues facing senior HR executives in leading global corporations. This individual will work on a wide range written deliverables that require (but not limited to) qualitative and quantitative research methods (interview HR leaders at leading global corporations, conduct wide-ranging secondary literature searches, synthesize information to elicit key insights, and write insights using data and analysis)– to help organizations transform the way they operate.
The Senior Specialist must be intellectually curious, with a desire to quickly develop “generalist” HR knowledge. The role is a key feeder to careers reaching the highest levels of the firm.
What you will do:
Day-to-day tasks will include conducting research interviews with HR leaders, group thought work sessions to uncover key assumptions and provocative hypotheses, building models that can be tested by quantitative and qualitative data, data analysis, creating compelling deliverables (in written and graphic form), and project management.
Research topics will span a range of critical issues facing HR executives on how work gets done, from the implications of AI and digitalization on the employee experience and ways of working to the leadership qualities and skills required in a modern organization; and will help them answer questions such as “how can we make our organization design more flexible” and “how can we avoid employee change fatigue when they are experiencing so many more changes?”.
Projects will vary in terms of length (from short pieces that span a few weeks to six month initiatives) and team structure (from individual contributor up to teams of ten).
Execute and/or manage key research deliverables, including but not limited to: large research studies, white papers, case studies, presentations and webinars, guidebooks, templates, round-table discussions, or custom, in-bound research requests.
Understand business problems and identify best-practice solutions using root cause analysis, hypothesis generation, survey design, benchmarking, and other qualitative and quantitative methods.
Support the team through other tasks, such as organizing meetings and teleconferences, and preparing research materials and summaries for the team.
You will work closely with your teammates across the London, Washington D.C. and Gurgaon hubs on topics central to the Chief HR Officer and Head of Talent Management.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
3-5 years of work experience in applied or academic research
Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be willing to work out of London, UK
What you will get:
Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, and more!
Private Medical and Dental Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity
Professional development and unlimited growth opportunities
