THE PROJECT / CONTRACTOR  

Our client is a Tier 1 contractor working on the AMP-7 water framework. This particular project is the renovation of a Water Treatment works. The AMP-7 framework is aimed around improving the efficiency and supply of water around the UK, in this instance, the London and South-East region. Projects can range in value from £1m to £5m. This contractor is providing the opportunity for freelancers to work on a contract that can last up to 5 years.

THE ROLE

Ganymede are working closely with one of the main contractors in the UK on a collection of water projects in the South. As a Site Engineer, you will be working on site alongside the rest of the team and ensure you work collaboratively to provide work to the highest standard. You will perform general engineering duties that include Surveying, Setting Out, Diaries and 2D/3D sketches. Alongside these tasks, you will be given the opportunity to develop your management skills by assisting in planning, mentoring and assist with introducing new processes and techniques. This role gives a Site Engineer the opportunity to be able to learn what it takes to make that step up to being a Section or Senior Engineer.

THE IDEAL SITE ENGINEER  

To be considered for this fantastic Site Engineer opportunity, you will need strong experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on heavy civil engineering projects – preferably on wastewater projects but this is not essential. You may be experienced on highways or rail projects and have a good understanding of earthworks and M&E installation. A valid CSCS and an engineering qualification is required to be considered for this role. A Thames Water passport, EUSR, and First Aid would also be beneficial but not essential. You will have experience with earthworks, concrete, pipework, ductwork and mechanical install and be able to successfully communicate within site meetings, toolbox talks and health and safety briefings. You may be a Setting Out Engineer looking for more Responsibility with experience on Heavy Civils projects or you could potentially be a Site Engineer wanting the opportunity to progress and learn how one of the top contractors in the UK operates.
