The Opportunity:

This position will be based on small-medium sized projects throughout the Avonmouth region predominantly consisting of bridge repairs, and asset management projects. Turning over at a fast rate, you will pragmatically and successfully play a fundamental part in the project delivery across the framework.

What is expected of me as Section Engineer?

• You will ensure daily and weekly planning of site works are being carried out, including assisting in the production of Risk Assessments, Work Package Plans, Inspection Test Plans, etc.
• Ensuring that in conjunction with the site teams, changes in the contract are identified, agreed, and effectively managed.
• Continuously monitoring the contract to ensure the client objectives are being met.
• You will supervise the works on site including labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Day-to-day management of sub-contractors and engineers as required.
• Setting out and surveying works on site when required.
• You will review and interpret project drawings and specification for site-based activity.
• You will provide formal report on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.

Package:

For this position, the company is offering a basic salary £45,000 per annum, fantastic overtime rates, 26 days holiday + bank holidays funding and support with professional memberships, 5% matched pension rising to 7%, Life assurance and an Agile working policy.

About you:

Ideally you will be from a rail background but if you have other experience in any civil engineering background please still get in touch. It is essential that you’re qualified engineer with experience on ITP’s and paperwork who has worked with a high level of engineering principles and disciplined projects in the rail (or similar) industry, as well as having good working knowledge of H & S regulations and attention to detail.
