The Role
You will be joining a thriving team as a key player in supporting the Engineering competency and capability on rail projects across this company’s Northern and Eastern region.
This role is mixed between office-based and site-based, with the site-based aspect of your role seeing you work with the Contracts Manager’s project management teams offering site technical support. Your time spent in the office will see you being mentored by the CRE and supporting the project and engineering management teams which will give you the opportunity to showcase innovative thinking and bring challenge to the design process.
Day to day you can expect to be providing engineering support by offering a technical capacity to assure designs are in accordance with AFC’s, QITP’s and are aligned to specification, discharged to duties of Contractors Responsible Engineer on a scheme-specific basis and engage with the company’s career development and mentorship programme to both develop towards CRE and/or CEM status.

Package
For this position, the company is offering a basic salary of £40,000 to £42,000 per annum, the choice of a company car or car allowance, 26 days holiday + bank holidays with two optional charity days and the option to buy more holidays, funding and support with professional memberships, Pension, Life assurance and an Agile working policy.
About you
If you want to hit the ground running in this role, it is essential that you’re a technically qualified rail professional, with a proven track record working as a Project engineer or Senior engineer in a main contractor environment. To fit this company’s culture and get the best out of your own capabilities, you will be an ambitious person, eager to achieve career goals and move up the company successfully.
Your portfolio of experience will consist of multi-disciplined rail and civil engineering projects delivering to big clients such as Network rail.
