Up to £60,000 per annum + £5k Car Allowance and Company Benefits

Are you an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer looking for your first step into the rolling stock sector? A new opportunity has become available to join a tier 1 supplier of key mechanical systems to the rolling stock sectors OEM’s and TOC’S across the UK.

An amazing opportunity has become available for a professional & experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a global engineering and technology business. This organisation has strong ties to a range of engineering sectors, most notably the rolling stock sector, with a key focus on manufacturing safety critical systems and providing an overhaul and refurbishment service.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You will be an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer, with excellent problem solving, reverse engineering and design skills within a team environment. You will have experience of working on overhauls & refurbishment projects from start to finish where you are responsible for being ensuring mechanical components & equipment are functioning correctly to the client’s standards.

ABOUT THE JOB

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll provide leadership for a variety of overhauls & refurbishment projects, with the focus being on the mechanical components such as braking systems, coupling units, carbon shafts, hydro dynamic drives and more, where you will be a key point of contact for the Senior Technicians who are working a hands-on role with the client(s) to fault find, diagnose, and report any occurring issues with the components which need your attention, support and expertise to re-design, problem solve and play a major part in the components functioning.

THE REQUIREMENTS

Engineering Qualification – Minimum of HND.

Experience – Lead Mechanical Engineer experience of system engineering / overhaul / refurbishment projects from within rolling stock, armoured vehicles, aircrafts, HGV Trucks, Excavators, and industrial cranes is highly desired.

PACKAGE AND COMPANY BENEFITS

Up to £60k per annum, plus a Car Allowance of £5k per annum.

37.5 Hour Standard Working Week with Flexible & Agile Working.

25 Days Annual Leave & Bank Holidays

7% Project Completion Bonus (Average)
