This World-famous organisation are looking to grow the newest division of their business by strengthening their project management team in order to support their equally famous clients on some high-value, long-term projects.

The Candidate:

The Assistant Project Manager that we are looking for will be intelligent and ambitious and will have had some exposure to the rail industry. Somebody who has agility and quick thinking, coupled with outside-of-the-box problem solving and good stakeholder management skills. Are you looking to take that next step in your project management career? You may currently be a Project Co-Ordinator or a Junior Project Manager who is stuck in their role with no clear route for progression. You may be an Assistant Project Manager who isn’t given the freedom and responsibility to grow and develop, or you may simply be working for an organisation that doesn’t value your opinion or ambition. We want to hear from all of you!!!

The Role:

This key client is a HUGE player in the rail industry with an annual turnover just shy of £1Bn. Yes, that’s right £1 BILLION. Having taken the rolling stock sector by storm they are now taking slices of the signalling pie from their more experienced (but less dynamic) competitors. The growth in this sector has led to the requirement for a new Assistant Project Manager and you would be responsible for helping the Senior Project Manager ensure timely delivery of projects for their key clients. You will represent the business at internal and external stakeholder meetings, develop budgets, control forecasts and report costs. You will actively manage resource requirements, risks and opportunities and will be given the freedom to develop into a World-beating project manager like many that this business has produced before you.

The Requirements:

The ideal Assistant Project Manager for this client is somebody who has some rail experience. A Project Co-Ordinator or Junior Project Manager looking to take the next step in their career and someone who may already be working towards their APM accreditation. But more importantly someone who is keen, intelligent, ambitious and driven, and who wants to become a future King or Queen of Rail Project Management.

Salary: Up to £45,000 p.a.
