Job Title: Education and Training Lead (Youth Programme)
Location: Northern Ireland. Home-based, with travel expected within region
Reports to: Quality and Performance Team Leader

Job Purpose:
GamCare’s successful harm prevention and support service for young people currently
delivers the Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme, a national programme
aiming to raise awareness of gambling-related harm and providing support via GamCare’s
Young People’s Support Service.
We strive to ensure young people, their parents, and the professionals working with them are
equipped to make informed choices about gambling and have access to age-appropriate
support, with the overall aim of reducing gambling harms experienced by young people.
As an Education and Training Lead you will engage key stakeholders in your region, deliver
accredited training to professionals, run interactive workshops with young people, and
collaborate with your colleagues to ensure the ongoing improvement and success of the
programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Engaging Stakeholders
Working with your regional colleagues you will develop new relationships and maintain existing
relationships with key stakeholders. Your aim is to meet your collective regional targets and
overall programme targets for the number of professionals trained and young people attending
gambling awareness workshops, whilst maximising opportunities across other GamCare
programmes and treatment services.
Your responsibilities include:
interest (schools, youth organisations, health and social care etc.)
targeted emails, phone calls, and social media
open-days, conferences, and other local or regional events
information is provided and collected in a timely manner
future deliveries are maximised, and the Young People’s Support Service Team are
linked in where appropriate
and data can be utilised to identify best practice and national partnership opportunities
Delivering Training and Workshops
Utilising your skills and experience in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating, you will
deliver interactive and engaging sessions to young people, professionals, and parents/carers
to raise awareness of gambling-related harm experienced by young people. You will ensure
participants leave with enhanced knowledge, increased confidence, and know where to access
support if a young person is experiencing gambling-related harm.
Your responsibilities include:
ranging from small groups, to classrooms, and school assemblies
face-to-face or online
by GamCare, our delivery partners, and other treatment options available
delivery and evaluation or the programme
participants to ensure the programme is as inclusive as possible
and young people’s welfare in relation to all advice, support, interventions, and services
we provide
Collaboration and Ongoing Improvement
You will build and maintain an effective working relationship with your colleagues in the youth
programme, our partner networks, and across GamCare to ensure a team culture of
collaboration and ongoing improvement. Our programme values an element of fun in the work
we do, but also with how we interact with each other. By sharing best practice, and building a
positive team environment, the benefits will be reflected in the delivery elements of the
programme, ensuring our stakeholders have a memorable experience, and we deliver the best
possible programme.

Person Specification: Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Essential
Experience working with children and young people in an educational or youth setting
OR
Holds an undergraduate degree or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline
(Youth Work, Teaching, Social Sciences, Health and Social Care or Training)
Experience
