Working in a flexible team located in Brisbane, we are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Office. This is a Permanent, fulltime opportunity, reporting to the Corporate Controller. The Primary purpose of this role is to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Financial information back to the Corporate Office whilst working with the wider team, partnering with various local and interstate key stakeholders.
Working closely with management, in this role you will be responsible for key corporate financial accounting and tax compliance processes, including:
- Ensure month end journals are prepared in a timely and accurate manner, ready for review (including accrual and prepayment entries)
- Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations & work papers for review in accordance with month end timetable, balanced and supported in accordance with corporate standards
- Support the Corporate Controller to complete the month end financial close within 3 working days, by assisting in core month end processing functions
- Key support for the expense reimbursement process / system (Concur)
- Assist broader finance team on a range of items as necessary
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and certification as CA or CPA (or currently studying) with 3 years’ experience.
- Significant experience in a financial accounting function within a large Corporate or major accounting firm
- Technical and proficiency in Systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools specifically Excel skills, ERP & BI Systems – confident with Pivot tables, data analysis and reporting using large data sets and full GL Extracts
- Awareness of Accounting standards and multi entity consolidation requirements
- Time management and deadline/outcome focused
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interpret and analyse complex data, connect and influence key stakeholders fostering team commitment
