Futurex Hiring for Senior Firmware Engineer at Bulverde, TX Full Time

Futurex is seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware for our products. You will work closely with the hardware, software, and QA teams to ensure that our products are of the highest quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain firmware for our products
• Work closely with the hardware team to design and test new hardware components
• Collaborate with the software team to integrate firmware and software
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Mentor junior firmware engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in firmware development
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers
• Strong understanding of Linux
• Proficient in C and/or C++
• Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Experience with debugging tools such as GDB and Valgrind
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and TCP
• Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Preferred:

• Experience with ARM-based architecture
• Knowledge of security standards and protocols
• Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption algorithms
• Experience with Git and JIRA
