About us

We’re a fintech with the experience to disrupt the lending market for small businesses. SMEs make up 99% of all UK businesses yet are traditionally underserved by big banks and financial institutions. Our platform brings the world of finance to their doorstep, leveraging a unique knowledge of lending and applying efficient cloud technology to give access to panels of lenders from some of the biggest banks to smaller niche alternative finance providers. To date we have helped SMEs get access to over £100m of funding.

We were one of a handful of companies approved by the FCA as an AISP at the start of Open Banking, and have been designated by HM Treasury, as part of its mandatory referral process, to work with nine of the UK leading Banks to help small businesses secure funding.

We are now starting an exciting new chapter, offering our platform to banks and lenders to help them transform their customer experience, with huge benefits both for the small business and the lender. We’re looking for people to join us on our mission to transform SME funding.

The role
We are looking for engineers who have a range of skills across several disciplines and have a strong desire to continue to build upon these. We are looking for a team player who enjoys working with others to help us build a modern disruptive platform. You will join a diverse group of bright and passionate engineers, in a self-organizing and cross-functional team. You’ll be building and operating a bespoke cloud-based SaaS loan recommendation platform, creating consumable API’s.

Our full stack is Java, JavaScript, Angular, and Athena, deployed on AWS via Terraform, but you won’t be expected to know it all.

You’ll need to:

· have some experience with Java

· have experience with at least 1 Object-Oriented programming language

· have used AWS, and be able to understand it’s various tools including EC2, Lambda’s and S3

· understand the benefits of Infrastructure as Code

· have knowledge of at least 1 database technology, preferably Postgres or AWS Athena

· have some knowledge of writing and debugging Python

· have a core understanding of cloud security and its best practices, including IAM

It’d be nice if you:

· understand and can talk about different network topologies

· understand and can talk about Docker/Kubernetes, especially EKS

· have some understanding of building CI/CD pipelines

· have prior fintech or business finance experience
