The Opportunity:

Due to growth within our business, we’re currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Eastern Region (NSW) Infrastructure Services team, located in Minto.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will assist the team across the following Financial Management processes:

• Cost control and internal invoicing for the Fulton Hogan Workshop
• End of month tasks – accruals, transfers, etc.
• Management of the NSW light vehicle fleet – minimising costs for the business
• Analysis and reporting on the NSW heavy fleet – optimising utilisation of plant and equipment
• Liaise with the operations teams to ensure timelines are met
• CAPEX Asset processing and asset transfers
• Administrative tasks related to the NSW fleet and workshop
• Ad-hoc reporting

This role will take the lead in managing our regional assets, plant and light vehicle fleet, conducting analysis and Return on assets reporting for the management team.

The candidate placed in this role would be viewed as a potential future leader in the finance function and assist in facilitating the growth of the NSW business.

What are we ideally looking for from you?

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent;
• Commenced CA/CPA or looking to do this in the near future;
• 1-3 years of demonstrated experience working in an accounting role. Experience in the construction industry will be highly regarded but not essential;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and meet numerous deadlines as required;
• Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to perform detailed and insightful analysis;
• Strong data entry skills and the ability to adapt to new systems (previous experience with JDE will be highly regarded).
