Fuel Storage Solutions Looking for Site Supervisor at BD13 3JB, Bradford Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our award-winning Fuel Storage solutions and services company, working with an established client base comprising multiple blue chip organisations

Offering a salary of up to £40k per annum + benefits, including Pension, Life Assurance, Health Cash Plan. Commercial vehicle provided.

Full-time, with UK-wide and some international travel e.g to UK military bases, including the Falkland Islands

Established for over 20 years, Fuel Storage Solutions are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fuel tanks and all associated systems and this role provides great exposure and opportunity to develop as a key part of the management team.

As the key conduit between the project management team and the client and engineers on site, you will have exacting standards, ensuring the right resources, capabilities and sign off processes are in place to achieve excellence in project delivery. You will support the full project lifecycle organising schedules, supervising engineers and ensuring health and safety and operational compliance, to ultimately achieve all commercial objectives.  

The role will suit someone with site project management and supervisory experience in the engineering or construction industries with exposure to civil engineering and/or knowledge of fuel pipework and tanks. You will have a CSCS card, and ideally be SMSTS trained.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Supervision of engineers and subcontractors on site, ensuring full adherence to site safety practices, and evaluating performance of the project and individuals
• Knowledge and application of CDM regulations
• Overseeing on-site resources so workstreams deliver to schedule and in line with agreed commercials
• Managing sub-contracted resource for assigned projects
• Inspecting sites to enforce safety rules, identify and eliminate potential safety hazards
• Educating site workers on safety regulations, including carrying out toolbox talk refreshers
• Clarifying and escalating any project issues or changes as required, and delivering any agreed resolutions accordingly
• Delivering project commencement and sign off activities to ensure objectives are clear and delivery is validated
• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and legal requirements throughout the project, including reviewing RAMs and coaching team members on requirements
• Coaching team members and signing off training plans through observing technical and behavioural competencies
• Soliciting feedback from site teams to ensure any ideas and issues are fed back to the central teams.
• Managing own diary to oversee multiple site projects, prioritising focus areas as required
• Effective and accurate asset recording as required under assigned contracts
• Challenging/removing blockers that stop the Projects team successfully completing their jobs be it from internal or external factors
• Supporting the induction of new engineers into the business
• Contributing to the management of project governance and status reporting to ensure effective communication and contingency management
• Working effectively with relevant stakeholders, creating a positive rapport with all clients and being responsive to their needs, attending and presenting at client update meetings
• Organising and administering all site-related paperwork
• Maintaining a proactive and positive team ethos

• Demonstrable site management experience
• Experience in engineering and/or construction industries
• CSCS card holder and knowledge of CDM regulations
• Excellent demonstrable knowledge of compliance and health and safety regulations
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience are:

• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) trained
• Exposure to Civil Engineering
• Electrical installation experience
• Military experience – Exposure to JSP317 and JSP319
• Knowledge of fuel pipework and tanks
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and to translate product drawings into actionable process information
