The UK Payroll Specialist is a support role within the EMEA payroll team that reports to the Senior Payroll Specialist for EMEA. The Payroll Specialist will assist in all aspects of the monthly UK payroll processing as well as supporting other administrative functions within the team.

Primary Duties:

• Processing of the UK Payroll for approx. 1,300 UK employees on a monthly basis
• Collating and processing all UK payroll data into ADP, (Starters, Leavers, Benefits, Bonuses, Overtime, Pensions etc.)
• Ability to manually calculate PAYE and NI calculations, Gross to Net
• In depth knowledge of statutory legislation in relation to: SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP & SHPP
• Good working knowledge of GL coding/costings
• Prepare & review the monthly payroll reconciliations and control reports
• Issue the monthly payroll files to Senior Management for approval and payroll sign off
• Produce final payroll reports to enable the Management Accounting Team to post the monthly payroll journal
• Manage the Monthly reconciliations for payments to HMRC and other third parties
• Providing earnings data to the Global Mobility team
• Maintaining an understanding of current payroll legislation: RTI and Auto Enrolment
• Experience of preparing and submitting the monthly ONS data
• Day to day liaison with clients – Employees, Benefits team, Finance, HR, HMRC, Pension Provider, Childcare Vouchers, etc.
• Other ad hoc duties as required

Key Skills:

• Knowledge of ADP Freedom
• Minimum of 4 years payroll experience
• Experience of dealing with payroll from start to finish in an in-house processing environment
• Understanding of current Pension legislation
• Good working knowledge of Excel (v-look ups), Word and Powerpoint
• Experienced in working to tight deadlines
• Methodical and organised
• Strong attention to detail is essential
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritise, manage time and work effectively
• Strong team player in an environment of professionals
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
• Open minded with a positive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience of Professional Services Environment
• Experience of processing Modified and/or Shadow Payroll
• Knowledge of processing P11D’s
