Civil Engineer – Project Engineer

FSC, Inc. offers professional surveying and civil engineering services to both private and public clients, providing design solutions on transportation, water and wastewater improvements, residential and commercial land development, and oil and gas projects throughout Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana.

We have an immediate opening for a Project Engineer (PE) in our Columbus, Texas office. The candidate must be detail oriented and should be open to working on various types of projects with a willingness to learn new aspects of Civil Engineering.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least five years related experience in civil engineering (typically civil infrastructure design or analysis, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer, etc.).
• Prior experience managing aspects of civil projects.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of project discipline (typically civil engineering infrastructure projects, including paving, drainage, water, sewer, grading and drainage infrastructure).
• Solid knowledge of and proficiency with MS Office.
• Knowledge of and abilities with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation/Openroads Designer.
• Knowledge of and ability to estimate costs associated with technical tasks.
• Solid understanding of project requirements.
• Must be able to complete projects with the ability to understand budget and time constraints.
• Must be able to mentor and train younger staff while working within a team environment.

Soft/Other Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make timely decisions independently through sound judgment for the betterment of all team members and the firm.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to present possible solutions.

Pay: $79,000.00 – $120,334.44 per year
