FruitScout Hiring for Data Engineer Job at Remote Full Time

At AFS, you will use your deep understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence to tackle meaningful technical problems, and be a key early member of a team building the most innovative computer vision products solving some of the biggest challenges in agriculture. You will perform fundamental research by defining, designing, implementing and evaluating algorithms involving unrivaled data and objectives. You will also actively engage with the academic community by collaborating with leading precision crop load management researches at leading universities in agriculture (e.g. Cornell, UMass-Amherst, MSU, WSU)

You will work closely with with the technical CEO and founder

• Upgrade a machine learning pipeline based on current pilot workflow.

• This project included developing the dataset loaders, data augmentation functions, deep learning models, and loss functions.

• Processing high volumes of images of fruit crops captured from mobile phones

• Constraining the problem space creatively in order to develop a practical solution that can be deployed across apple varieties with very little fine tuning

• Working on novel labeling methods with the data infrastructure team to reduce labeling costs while improving model outputs

• Implementing new versions of model architectures as they become available

• Knowledge of common ML computer vision frameworks (Pytorch, Ultralytics YoloV5, FastAI)

• A passion for making ML methods robust and scalable

• Strong programming skills with proven experience crafting, prototyping, and delivering advanced algorithmic solutions

• Ability to explain and present analyses and machine learning concepts to a broad technical audience

• Be able to deliver ML technologies aligned with the core values of AFS, ensuring the highest standards of quality, innovation, and respect for client privacy.

• Creative, collaborative, and innovation focused

• Strong Python programming skills.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
