FDS is a private, independent, non-denominational school that was established in 2017 starting with one inaugural Kindergarten class. Since then, each year a grade is added. For the 2022-23 school year, enrollment is now open for Grades K-5.

FDS focuses on academic rigor, STEM education and the Arts – most notably, Suzuki Violin at all grade levels. We offer Visual Arts, Spanish, STEM lab, Physical Education and Yoga/Mindfulness to prepare the whole child for service to humanity and to participate in a global society.

Ideal candidates have experience as an elementary school teacher and-or experience in elementary education teaching.

JOB OVERVIEW

Seeking classroom teachers for the 2023-24 school year. The teachers we seek must believe all children can learn, have high expectations for students and themselves and be willing to support the FDS mission, vision, culture and expectations. Our school environment is growing and we are looking to recruit top talent today for our future leaders.

TEACHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A valid state teaching license is preferred but not required
• Effective classroom management skills
• Implements current best practices for instruction
• Is a team player
• Knows how to use student assessment data to inform instruction
• Technology literate or willing to learn the necessary technology that supports the curricula.
• Maintains a positive attitude at all times

COMPENSATION PACKAGE – A competitive salary of $45,000+ and comprehensive benefits are available. Additional paid supplemental duties may be offered. A yearly performance bonus can be earned.

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• NC or another state teaching license (Preferred)
