Who You Are

• Packaging Machine Experience. You have experience supervising staff that operate packaging machines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• You will be responsible for the ingredient packaging department, which consists of 10+ hourly operators.
• As a People Leader, you will ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined; performance expectations are well understood and adhered to; mentor Lead Hands, and Operator Staff through clear instruction, guidance and support; ensure effective training programs are in place; and manage employee feedback constructively.
• You will be responsible for overseeing staff scheduling and management of ingredient inventory requests.
• You will be accountable for meeting production, quality and health & safety targets.
• You will conduct incident investigations and facilitate corrective actions. You will also be responsible for confirming corrective actions are effective, followed through and are sustained.
• You are passionate about general cleanliness, tidiness, and organization of the production facility.

What We Are Looking For

• 2 years of experience supervising productivity, efficiency, and process improvement in a manufacturing setting. Food manufacturing is preferred but not required.
• 2 years experience liaising with maintenance, engineering, purchasing, production, quality assurance and human resource departments.
• 2 years experience promoting key players, grooming direct reports and conducting employee performance management.
• Automated processing, production and/or packaging line experience preferred.
• Management of a production system utilizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics an asset.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and standardized sanitation operating procedures is an asset.
