Fresh Direct Produce Hiring for Cost Accountant at Vancouver, BC Full Time

As one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a Cost Accountant to join our growing team! The Cost Accountant will predominantly prepare management reports such as costing and margin analyses, and support other management accounting initiatives to ensure operating departments’ needs are met. The incumbent will also collaborate with other team members to analyze current procedures, and reduce redundancies to support corporate strategies and business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Compiling analytical reports and identifying relevant gross margin and costing insights over time by comparing unit performances
• Designing and developing dashboards, reports, and metrics to assist different departments in measuring & monitoring success on a weekly and/or monthly basis
• Preparing reports for Department leaders, offering an in-depth trend analysis based on historical data, current performance, and other key indicators
• Preparing, analyzing and reporting weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand by customer type
• Preparing detailed account analyses and reconciling sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division
• Analyzing large data sets to identify the performance of key metrics related to strategic initiatives (i.e. improved fulfillment rates, reduced return rates, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
• CPA designation in progress or completed
• A minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
• Advanced knowledge of reporting and spreadsheet applications, including V-lookups, pivot tables, and queries
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
