We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team, supporting the Finance Manager for our three hotels; Francis Hotel Bath, Queens Hotel Cheltenham and the Castle Hotel Windsor.

Our People

Over the course of the last year, we took care of our team whilst they were unable to work. We held virtual Christmas parties and weekly calls, we did not let the global pandemic dampen our spirits!

The Role
Ready for a career move? We are looking for a Financial Accountant, to work closely with both the current outsourced reporting partner and our three hotels to bring the reporting function in-house. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to impact this change, working with a team around you, to rubber stamp the procedures required to ensure the highest level of reporting is maintained and continued.
This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from home. You will have an office base at the Francis Hotel Bath, where it is expected you would spend a minimum of two days a week. From time to time, there may be a requirement to visit our other two hotels in Cheltenham and Windsor. The key responsibilities for this role are:
·To actively contribute to the success of the transition of finance systems, while the business continues to trade.
·Maintenance of the general ledgers and regular review, including ensuring prepayments and accruals are accurate
·Daily revenue interface control between operating systems and financial accounting systems
·Overall management of sales and purchase ledgers, working with the hotel teams to ensure accurate procedures are in place
·Control accounts and intercompany accounts reconciled and signed off on a monthly basis
·Finalising month end with the three hotel management teams
·Daily bank reconciliation, distribution and working with both the finance team and the hotel teams in case of query. Month end bank reconciliation
·Responsible for cash control and monthly cash flow forecasting
·VAT control and preparation to Group offices ready for VAT return submission
·Project and Capex tracking, working with Group offices maintaining the fixed asset register
·Working with the finance manager on the annual budgeting process
·Running the external year end audit in conjunction with the finance manager and Group offices, ensuring all lead schedules and required back-up are complete and testing is dealt with on a timely basis
You may be our ideal candidate if you have the following skills and experience:
·Five years accounting experience, ideally from a hotel background, ideally qualified ACCA / CIMA / Equivalent
·Resilient to a high-volume workload, and able to prioritise, meeting monthly deadlines without exception
·An excellent communicator both verbal and written, and able to manage the expectations of various stakeholders of the organisation
·Supremely organised, highly numerate, accurate, with excellent attention to detail
·Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of the wider Finance team
·Good knowledge of finance systems and structures, being able to use this knowledge practically to ensure the best accounting output
