Due to growth within the firm and department, an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or part qualified individual has arisen to join our client engagement team. In this role, you will support our Client Engagement team with the preparation of accounts and tax returns, together with bookkeeping services and VAT returns for a wide range of clients.

We operate a hybrid working approach with a mix of home and office working.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparation of financial information, including accounts, reports and returns for a wide range of clients from a fantastic mix of sectors and sizes
• Preparation and submission of tax returns
• Providing bookkeeping services, including the recording of income and expenditure, matching transactions to bank statements and summarising expenditure types.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Preparation and submission of CIS returns for clients
• Using computer software to record financial transactions, including Excel, Word, Cloud accounting software and other financial packages (experience in various Cloud accounting software packages would be an advantage but training will be provided)
• Working as part of a team to ensure the delivery of excellent service to clients
• Developing and strengthening client relationships, providing a first class professional service
• Delivering high quality and accurate work at all times within set timescales and deadlines
• Communicating with colleagues and clients in a professional manner at all times
• Treating others in line with the firm’s requirements for ethical standards and upholding relevant codes of conduct.

About you:

• AAT qualification is desirable but not essential, but you should have relevant accounts and bookkeeping experience. If you are currently studying we can support you to finish your qualification
• Experience in various cloud accounting software packages (Xero, QuickBooks) is desirable, but not essential
• Competent in working with figures and be able to understand the significance of calculations
• Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills where the client will always come first
• Be able to work on own initiative as well as within a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate problem solving abilities
• Computer literate, with an aptitude towards spreadsheets
• Personable, enquiring and willing to ask questions when unsure
• Experience in business or an accountancy practice.
